Other Announcements:

Between now and Valentine’s Day, students in the CIA group (3rd through 5th grade) will decorate cards to send to those in our church family who are sick and shut in. Beginning this Sunday, January 24, supply packets will be available at the Welcome Center for the children to pick up after services. Please drop off decorated cards in the red basket at the Welcome Center so that these can be addressed and mailed. If you know of someone who would benefit from a card, please see Pat Pewitt.

Join us for a Gift Card Shower honoring Allen and Grace Corlew. A box will be available in the Gathering Room on Wednesday, January 20 and Sunday, January 24. You may also drop off gift cards at the church office during the week. Allen and Grace have requested cards from Walmart and Bed, Bath, and Beyond.

Please be reminded that audio and video resources are available for your family at WSCOC.com. Just click the ‘media’ link and scroll to the following: ‘Bible Stories’. The last lesson posted was the “Resurrection of Jesus”—many more lessons are available. ‘Recorded Lessons’, like the Wednesday night auditorium class and audio of Sunday AM and PM services go back several years. These are all great resources available 7/24/365.
January’s items for the Golden Deeds Ministry are dish soap/laundry detergent. These items will be provided to each of our mission house residents when they move in. There is a collection bin in the Gathering Room.

2020 has been a challenging year! Have you struggled with fear, or know someone who has? What is the biblical basis of integrating fear into our faith? On Tuesdays at 7pm, Steve Moore will be hosting a Zoom class on “Faith, Fear, and Risk.” This will be a participatory study with Bible reading assignments. If interested, e-mail skmoore63@comcast.net and put “I’m in” in the subject line; you will receive a link to the study in the next day or so.

During these days, many of our people are relying on technology, some more than usual. If you need tech support with your tablet, smartphone, laptop, or smart-TV, please email us your question at: askwalnutstreet@wscoc.com. We will do our best to respond personally to your question and help offer support in some way.

Reading for today: 3 And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. 2 I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; 3 for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and [a]behaving like mere men? 4 For when one says, “I am of Paul,” and another, “I am of Apollos,” are you not carnal?
5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one? 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.
