The Loft will be closed tonight. Any and all 6th – 12th graders planning to go on the mall trip to Cool Springs tonight are asked to be at the building to depart at 6 pm. The bus will return at 10 pm. The Loft will be closed Saturday.
All 6th – 12th graders and their families are invited to the Youth Group Super Bowl Add-a-dish Sunday evening in the Loft following the evening worship service. Everyone is asked to bring enough finger-foods to feed yourself and your family members. Your dish(es) may be delivered to the Loft before services begin. Walnut Street’s Food Pantry is in need of the following: canned green beans, canned soup, macaroni and cheese, Ravioli, canned tuna and chicken, cereal, spaghetti sauce, and spaghetti noodles
The Dynamic Deacon Seminar is scheduled for February 10th-11th with Aubrey Johnson.
The Senior Ministry Kick-Off Luncheon will be held on Sunday, February 12th , following Sunday school in the Fellowship Hall. There is no cost for this particular senior’s event. Following the luncheon, the 2012 Senior Ministry Calendar of Events will be discussed. Although this ministry is called the Senior Ministry, it is open to anyone who feels comfortable being a part of it. Sign up is required and February 8th is the last date for sign up. There is a clipboard in the Gathering Room for sign up.
This year’s FHU Bible Lectureship and book will be dedicated to Clarence DeLoach. Brother DeLoach will speak Monday night and be honored at the Tuesday evening appreciation dinner, February 7th, at 5 pm. FHU is establishing a scholarship in Bro. DeLoach’s name and contributions in his honor can help build the endowment for the scholarship.

Ladies, mark your calendar and be making plans to attend Walnut Street’s Ladies’ Day on Saturday, March 3rd from 9 am until 12 noon. Registration will begin at 8:30 am and lunch will be provided following the program. Theme: “Because He Lives, I Can Face Tomorrow”. Don’t miss Bernadette Bullington speaking on “A personal story of finding joy in the midst of advertisty”. As we did last year, the ladies of our congregation will provide a salad lunch for this event. A sign-up table will be available in the Gathering Room beginning Sunday, February 12th, for salads and registration.

Ladies, be watching for February and March D.O.T.S. outings information. April’s outing will be to the Dinner Theatre Matinee at The Renaissance Center on Thursday, April 26th. Lunch will be served at noon and the show “Church Basement Ladies” will begin at 1 pm. Tickets are $27 each and must be purchased in advance. Sign up in the Gathering Room now if you are interested. Ticket money should be given to Kim Long or Regina Cathey.
